Bryana Ella Craft
Hi! I’m Bryana. The Donnita Craft Foundation was founded in honor of my beloved Mother, Donnita Craft who passed away when I was 15 years old. I know that if my Mother were living, I would have not struggled nearly as much as I did financially throughout college. My vision, inspired by my Mother, is to give HBCU students a chance to make it in life regardless of the backgrounds and struggles they have faced. It took a village to help me make ends meet semester after semester. I applied for numerous scholarships to help me fulfill my lifelong dream to become a Registered Nurse. I want to become a part of the village and give back by helping others during a very pivotal time in their lives. I am a proud graduate of-THE-Southern University’s School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. In my days as a nursing student, I recall becoming discouraged because of the financial burden that I had. Students with no financial help often lose their classes because the tuition wasn’t met. I want to be able to provide some financial relief by helping students get to the next step that they need.
The mission of the Donnita Craft Foundation is to provide students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) with an opportunity to obtain a higher education through a scholarship fund. Our number one goal is to raise funds to help students reach their goals and fulfill their full academic potential, despite the obstacles that are often put before them while in school.
